And Wiggy, you know for a fact now that the map is not lying. You saw the full bars on my T-Mobile phone.

I'm glad to know that T-Mobile is strong in the Phoenix area. If I move out there, at least I'll know I have coverage.

Where I am....it shows fair coverage....with a shade darker being just west of me. I still get no service.....and no roaming agreement yet either

Oh yeah.....why does it ask me if I am a retail/sales person when I go to the map? Are those people getting different maps than us?

I've been wondering the same thing. Maybe Matt can give us the answer.

Shizam, based on the map you provided I don't know why you don't have service. I don't think roaming is an issue based on your map, but I don't know your zip code so I am only guessing.

The question about being a retail rep on the compass map tool is so TM can track the usage of compass by their employees. They want every new customer to be shown a PCC map of their area before they sign up with TM.

Got your PM. Checking for a potential answer, but if you truly have "no service" that would not match up with T-Mobile's generally conservative coverage maps.

Im a loyal T mobile customer I moved from Florida (great service) to The eastern shore of virginia (Cingular Roaming) For 8 months roaming hasnt been a problem. for the last 8 days tho I have been unable to make or revieve calls. I select the cingular network and Im prompted with a message saying No Access to the network??? 8 days now the run around through t mobiles departments and still no answer. Is there something that happened and they wont tell me? I like T mobile and I want to keep it I just cant wait forever. So any insight on this problem would be greatly appreciated...

Based on what you're saying:
"prompted with a message saying No Access to the network"
T-Mobile Discontinued Roaming Agreements w/ Cingular on this Area.

This means that the Tower is working Fine since the Phone is seeing it, you are just barred from using it.
You can ask T-Mobile to let you off the Contract since they have no Coverage unless they Agree to a New Roaming Agreement in this Area.

Looks like T-Mobile terminated the roaming agreeement with Cingular in the area- they will have to let you out of your contract if they can't provide service then.

Also, ask for your phone's SIM unlock code as (before) you leave T-Mobile. Once your present phone is unlocked, you could use a Cingular SIM in it. T-Mobile (and Cingular) will only give the SIM unlock code to current customers.

Thanks for the info, Matt. I will take a good look at the map now to see what's changed with it tomorrow. I hope that the addition of 850 will make them a great competition to Cingular's ALLOVER network. With the cheap prices and coverage comparable to Cingular, it's a no brainer IMO.

I beared witness to this as we ran coverage checks whilst lbMike was in town a while back!!! TMobile seems to be getting their act together!!!

It may be worthwhile for me to check them out in about a year and a half...

It would take alot to get me to leave VZW as a whole, but I'm just saying that as a worthy back-up, TMo impressed me a whole bunch more since I saw the coverage results on both- (well 3 w/ Cing) phones!!!

It sounds like yours and my results are the same between AZ & UT. VZW rocks, & Cing... not so much!!!

I would chose T-Mobile over Cingular any day, coverage wise, here in UT. They have done an incredible job enhancing their network here.
