Post Relocating to North Carolina

Currently, I have a 1,000 min family plan, and my family is moving to NC this fall. Since only roaming (I guess 850?) is available in NC, I wonder what t-mobile would do to me. I have read that one of ways to terminate your current contract is to "abuse" your roaming. Well, I have to use 100% roaming once I move to NC. Is there anyone who had the similar experience? Was your contract terminated? Or, did t-mo let you roam all the time? I appreciate any comment.

I've occasionally spoken to several people in your situation, and I've never heard of T-Mobile having a problem with people roaming 100% of the time. What may be a problem, though, is that you'll be roaming on SunCom in the PCS band which is not known for stellar coverage (Moreso because it's SunCom, not just because they're PCS).

If I were you, I would go, try it out, and just use it if it works for you. If you're not happy with coverage, if data is restricted, or you have any problems, I would look toward another provider who you will spend your time on natively. Alltel covers most of North Carolina and has very good coverage and family plans. USCC is also a big player in the western half of the state depending on which part of NC you're talking about.

Thanks UFO.

I got no choice but to stick with the current plan anyway since I have one more year remaining in my contract. The one concern is that we are going to lose free mobile-to-mobile minutes, so we need to be careful about minutes we are going to spend. Just see what happenes.
