hi I"m new to the forums and I really need some help. My girlfriend has a T mobile phone and she can't send any tech messages (This problem just started) she's relatively tech savvy but she doesn't know how to update her roaming or phone settings or whatever you call it in t-mobile (verizon calls it "update your roaming" and the number is *228). What is the number or code or w/e to update her roaming that might fix this problem? What do you think the problem is and is my diagnosis correct (that she has never updated her roaming)? Thanks for your help in advance.

Roaming updates are sent to the SIM card automatically by TM. No need for her to dial anything. And roaming updates won't solve a text messaging issue. She will need to call data/web tech support.

Check her message settings. Depending on the phone it will be something like "message center" it's a number that should be +12063130004

Guys, is there anyone that could help me out with text messaging too. I have bee struggling for over a month with my problem. You see, I have been trying to text message a friend in Switzerland. My delivery report states that the message is being delivered. But he never recieves the messages! And everything was working perfect before. I called T Mobile like over 10 times now, and everytime, they give me a different response, that it is not Tmobiles fault, that there is something wrong with the signal in my area..but I NEVER get a consistent answer! I called my friends carrier in Switzerland, and they are saying it has something to do with T Mobile, because I receive all my friends text messages. Can someone advise me what to do, and how to fix this problem. |

Some carriers only have messaging agreements with certain other carriers. In the U.S., I believe all of the carriers have agreements amongst each other. Have you checked the T-Mobile web site to see if the recipient's carrier is listed as being able to receive text messages from T-Mobile customers?
