Default T-mobile doesn't want my money

I've been with cingular prepaid for a long time but want to get on a monthly plan so I can get GPRS. I already have a phone but Tmobile (and cingular) both want me to sign 1 yr contracts despite the fact I am not getting ANY phone discount. What's up with that?

Is there a way to get on Tmobile monthly and not be locked in? Does tmobile not want my money?

Does anyone have an expired or expiring contract they want to transfer to me?

T-Mobile do not do month-to-month plans; I had heard that Cingular did, but perhaps that isn't the case anymore. If you got this information from customer service, make sure you call at least three times so you can compare the three different answers you'll get.

Every carrier (at least I think every "main" carrier) has a minimum 1 year contract. There is no way that you could get a monthly one (unless you do prepaid). Sprint used to do this (at least that is what my parents friend said, but I don't think they do that anymore.

As for looking for an expired or expiring contract, I would suggest to look at this website:

You could always sign the one year with tmobile, take the free phone and sell it on ebay.

Thats always an option, you'd be stuck in a one year, but you'd make money off the phone

That is the key with Cingular. Their are a lot of "Cingular Stores" that are authorized dealers. The best way to find out if they are corp. is to grab business card.

If you go to their website search for stores that do insurance exchanges. You can also search for in-store payments. These are usually corporate stores.
