Default v360 for $99 at authorized dealer,how?

I stopped by t-mobile authorized dealer in the mall and asked him how much would v360 cost with 1 year contract with t-mobile and he said for phone it would be $99. Stopped by corporate t mobile store and they said 199 and woudn't cut any deals. So how is authorized dealer able to sell the phone so cheap?

They may have different deals in place with suppliers or are just able to take a lower profit from the sale of equipment based on comissions, etc. I'm not exactly sure how it works but it does seem as though auth dealers, many times, will have better deals on handsets.

I saw you post this on HoFo. The reason dealers offer cheaper prices is they get paid $100-200 per activation by T-Mobile (or whatever carrier they sell). They choose to give you a portion of that in the form of a cheaper price on the phone.

Came back today and another guy was there. Told him what other guy told me, he suprised and went and called him to confirm. Came back and said i misunderstood him and for $99 it would have to be 2 year contract and for 1 year he can go as low as $149
