T Mobile not in my area I have been researching cell phone companies and I really like T Mobile
but they aren't in my area. I know people who have T Mobile
and use it in there area when they are in town and they don't have any problems.
My sister lives in a area with T Mobile
. If I sign up with her address and pay my bill online, do you think I will get caught. Or will T Mobile even care? I am a pilot and I travel alot so my calls will be made from all over. Would there be any roaming charges?
Also, I'm going through a divorce right now and my credit has been trashed. Is T Mobile pretty good about letting people sign up and just making them pay a deposit?
Thanks.

Re: T Mobile not in my area Tmobile
, for the most part, doesnt seem to care about you roaming... although some people just gotten canned for roaming too much. From what I heard, these people were already out of contract and used virtually no minutes on the Tmobile
network. Since you will be travelling all over the country, you will likely be using Tmobile
's network anyway.
If your credit stinks, then yes, they would let you in if you are willing to pay the deposit. Another possibility is their Flexpay service. You also can choose from the same calling plans. The coverage is the same in most parts of the country... you can confirm by using the coverage checks. The main difference is that the phone and fees are paid for upfront. The down side is that the prepayment is nonrefundable if you decide that the network/services dont work for you.
Good luck... cell phone companies seem to be more lenient than in the past (at least in my experiences)... you may be in for a pleasant surprise

Re: T Mobile not in my area You mentioned that people got canned but you thought they were out of contract. What happens if I'm in contract? Do I get to keep the phone since they breached the deal. Unless they can prove I'm not living where I am? Would I be better off going to a T Mobile
store and just be straight up with them and say I live here but I'm out of town 20 days a month?
Thanks again?

Re: T Mobile not in my area You'll be fine if you are out of your home 20 days a month. Just sign up with your sister's address and have the bill sent there or do online billing.
The people that were just "canned" by T-Mobile
were roaming close to 100% of the time off the T network.

Re: T Mobile not in my area How can I see where there network is? Does there site coverage map show their network or does also show who they have agreements with?
The sitcky in this forum can't possibly be T mobiles own network. They are showing coverage in my home town and they don't even offer T Mobile
here.
It's now available for everyone here:
Unsupported Browser
That's the regular TM coverage page so you might have to refresh your browser.

Re: T Mobile not in my area Regions shaded with striped or squared patterns are areas that are served by roamer companies. The varying shades of green are native Tmobile
areas.
The roamers that Tmobile
uses vary by region. For instance, in the southeast, Unicel, AT&T
, and Suncom provide the roaming for Tmobile. The maps themselves dont say what company is being used... the phone's display will tell you. (the phone will display 'AT&T
', 310-890, etc when you are off the TMobile network). Follow me here.

Re: T Mobile not in my area Thanks quint101. From looking at the coverage map that way, it looks at though T Mobile
doesn't have very many towers of their. It looks like they hit certain markets and that's it. Nothing in the south at all.
