The rumor is that Instinct-compatible SERO plans are coming out July 14. I haven't activated the phone and, since I have 30 days to return it, I'm gonna wait until then to see if those options are any good. If not, the Instinct's going back to Sprint!

Wirelessly posted (Instinct: Mozilla/4.1 (U; BREW 3.1.5; en-US; Teleca/Q05A/INT)) This thing has been in and out of service and into roam and back to Sprint all day at my desk. sprint is usually flawless here. i think this phone might need to go back

Well, I bring the thing home and it is performing great this evening. Strange. I only live 3 miles from my office, so maybe Sprint was/is tweaking things today, though I thought most such work was done at night. I guess I will see how it performs tomorrow....

Everything seems back to normal again today...so maybe it was a network issue rather than a device issue yesterday? The more I consider my alternatives, the more I think this phone is a keeper. Exchange email, real picture mail, visual voicemail, great weight/form factor. Not perfect, but pretty close.

Nope. You can only download the attachments and then transfer them to a computer. Stupid...if you had a ocmputer you wouldn't need the download feature on the phone

I have been a Treo user for many years and recently switched to the Instinct. I am very unhappy with many things on this phone. The following are things they need to change and/or add: (If they are on the phone please let me know) 1) Privacy mode for text messages....why does it show the picture, text, and name of person sending the message for all to see???? 2) Ringtone for each contact SMS, not just generic ringtone for all SMS 3) Calendar needs to be able to have reoccuring events not just daily or weekly i.e. paydays every other friday and you should be able to choose which type of event you are creating i.e. birthday, appointment, etc. 4) Where the heck does the picture mail go??? Once its sent it disappears and once you open a received picture mail they disappear 5)There should be a way to delete the recent history on previous emails sent and text messages just like you can delete recent call history and actual text messages. 6) We pay all this $ for this phone....we dont even get 1 free game? All demos? 7) No way to block certain people or even blocked numbers or at least a special ringtone for blocked numbers 8) Who makes a phone that doesnt have a zoom feature on the camera?? 9) Where are the emoticons for text?? 10) Cant delete ringtones once they are downloaded 11) Although you can scroll through the alphabet on the contacts while holding in down, I would like to just be able to enter a letter to go straight to the contact 12) Copy and paste needs to be added like yesterday As of now Palm software in my opinion has this phone beat. They better hurry up and make some changes.

In the end, I ended up returning the phone because it dropped too many calls and missed too many calls. Reception was definitely subpar. And what good is a phone that isn't a good phone? | |

I'm going to go check out the Treo 800x tonight. I still have my Instinct in the plastic -- only a few more days left on my return period.

The 800 is a lot smaller than I thought. It'll fit in the 'ol jeans pocket OK. Since it's got lotsa good features, and I get to keep my SERO, I called up sprint telesales and started the return process for the instinct. And the big bonus is that the 800w is available through my corporate dicount contact for only $149!
