I hope that Sprint doesn't start making all new phones Qchat. Some of us don't need or care about that feature and it's going to eliminate some potential phone choices for us. As it is they already have practically eliminated most low end basic phones which I think there's still plenty of demand for.

I wouldn't mind having that Qchat feature on the phone as long as I don't have to pay extra for that service. But I'm pretty sure Sprint won't allow you to buy and activate a Qchat phone without having to pay a fee for that service.

They have hinted that Qchat prices would be inline with Nextel DC plans. It is basically bundled in and there's not really an addon on most plans. The plan compatible with the Qchat will be bundled with DC.

Images: 146 | Well then that leaves out those of us who don't want to change our plans or pay more but happen to like a certain Qchat capable phone. It's too bad that we can't just buy any phone and use the options we want without having to worry about losing our grandfathered plans and perks to get it.

Hopefully they will just incorporate it into some new PV plans at a good price.

No longer are these two Sprint networks separated. According to Engadget Mobile, Verizon's going to begin QChat on their EV-DO network soon as well, so this might bode well for the PTT world. | |

Images: 1 | that would be very exciting if there was inter carrier interoperability (<-- is that how i should word it) for ptt. i'm very excited for the qChat release... i think this a great solution for all of the people out there who have had to put up with the crappy hybrid headsets.
