Couldn't resist the $50 price at Best Buy so I broke down and got one. I can finally send texts when in roaming mode but of course now I don't roam but once in a blue moon. The good thing for me about the Rumor is that I still get to hang on to my sweet $10 unlimited vision. |

The QWERTY keypad is going to take some getting used to. And the menu/ok button is small and requires a sweet spot press or else you end up hitting the arrow keys around it at the same time. But once I adapt to these minor issues it should be a great phone. |

Larry do you think you could call up Sprint and see if they will change that to Power Vision for $10. Considering your loyalty I bet they could help you out. I mean I think you would like EVDO much better than 1x. This is if you use the net alot of course.

Considering the Rumor is not EV-DO capable I don't see the need for it right now. And no I don't really use the net a lot other than to check sports scores sometimes. Also I wanted to add that the Rumor has a very good sounding earpiece. Seems to be more robust than my LX-350 sound was. |

Good luck with the Rumor Larry. With your long run with Sprint you should have no problem getting $10 PV if you ever need it.

I'm liking the built in e-mail client this thing has. I can have e-mail sent directly to my phone now instead of having to manually check using the Yahoo wap site like I did on my previous phone. | |

A few minor quirks that annoy me: Debug mode now requires your MSL to get in. (I guess I'll keep my LX-350 around for debug purposes). To sign out (disable) Vision is a more complicated process and requires an extra step as compared to my previous phones. I do have to disable the internet each time I use it due to the NID border being here. If I don't the data arrows will constantly be moving causing missed calls. It would be nice if Sprint and/or certain CDMA phones would allow for incoming calls during data activity. Last edited by larry; 03-11-2008 at 12:05 AM. |

Yup. It was great when I had a PDA phone and would stream XM Radio over the data connection and never miss a call. I think I like that aspect of EVDO better than the increased speeds! I think it works because EVDO is used for data, while 1X is used for voice, so the EVDO connection is suspended and the 1X connection kicks in. I wonder if it would work if EVDO were used for both voice and data?

You don't have to wait, Larry. Take that Rumor back. You have 30 days, lol.

Yeah, $10 unlimited has got to be tough to part with. I am sure a day will come when you will have no choice.

Images: 146 | From what I've been hearing it's very tough if not impossible to get the same deal on power vision. Just look at what unlimited texts cost alone. $10 or $15. I get internet, u/l text, pic mail, e-mail, etc for $10 total. If it means living with a little slower internet I can do that and will try to milk it for as long as I can. However like you said I think there will come a day when regular vision phones will be phased out or have a very limited selection and then I will be forced to upgrade and pay more. But with the popularity of the Rumor I think Sprint will have to support regular Vision for at least another couple of years.
