Default SLOW datacard

I'd hit speeds of 800-1.2 in Delaware. I now live in the 5th largest city (Philly) in America and cannot top 400 kbps. I called CS and they said the tower around the corner from me (on Jefferson Hospital) was only getting speeds of 600. Why so insanely slow in a city? I cannot top 400 now. I don't like going for a 1/4th speed reduction. The tech told the CS person they can only guarantee 300-500 kbps speeds. Well that is complete crap. I guess an ETF is in order. There is no point paying that much money for something so slow at my house.

I wish I could EVDO roam. I can only get 35kbps on Verizon 1xrtt and 76kbps on Sprint 1x. This is so disappointing.

Interesting! I don't see why a certain cell site with evdo would have a limited speed like that. Have you experienced the slow data speeds across the city or just certain parts?

Just a thought here, there is most likely a ton of traffic going over the EVDO towers in Philly, that is gonna slow your speed. Is it happening in just one spot, like your house, or is it all over the City no matter where you go? If it is just one area then there might be a tower problem. Buildings, and city stuff gets in the way of clear signals also.
And just to let you know, Verizon limits what you can do. They will cap your speed for lots of different reasons, Sprint dosen't do that. Exp. If you use 5Gb of data in a month, Verizon will cap you. They don't like people using there network for anything but emails!!! read the fine print.

Plse hold tight WiMax is on it's way. Chicago and DC next month!!
