HELP! The last SPRINT back door number I had just stopped working. DOES ANYONE HAVE A CURRENT SPRINT BACK DOOR NUMBER THAT STILL WORKS? Thanks.

What backdoor number did you use?
I know that dialing a Sprint prefix and adding MAIL(6245) works in my area at least.

It was in NPA 516. Once it stopped working, I discarded it. You are correct, they all end in 6245 but I have been unable to locate another one. If you find one or know of one, please let me know. I did locate one but it only works, apparently, locally, and will not allow a ten digit Sprint # from out of the area to access the voice mail national system.

I would like to know, what is the "back door number" for? calling your VM so as not to get billed for minutes used or something else?

It is a number which can be called to access any voice mail number without dialing from the telephone itself. With SPRINT, the number will most always end in: 6245. It has nothing to do with billed minutes!
