Hello all, I just have a quick question for everyone. I currently have a Samsung A900 with the Phone-As-Modem plan on my account. Sprint service in my town is very good, in fact they just turned on EV-DO service. However, once I leave town I begin roaming on Alltel, and while in Northern Indiana I'm on iPCS which most of the time I force my phone to roam for reasons which you are all probably aware of, it roams then on Verizon. I'm a full-time student who does all distance learning courses and need to have a connection available to me at nearly all times - even if its not EV-DO, 1xRTT is fine. My dilemma comes with the fact that I'm using a MacBook Pro and while I love the new USB modem I would rather wait since I really can't afford yet another line and would rather have an ExpressCard. Here is my question, if I were to upgrade my phone (which I love Thanks for all your help! -Charlie |

I'm pretty sure all of the new Vision/EV-DO models currently being offered are data roaming capable. I know the Sanyo 8400 and Katana both are.

What about the A900M? I currently have the original model. I've heard the RAZR and KRZR are as well. Thanks for your help! -Charlie |

The unfortunate part is that Sprint could easily release firmware upgrades for all phones that can't data roam. But we all know that will never happen.

Yeah, it is pretty strange. Why would the Sanyo 4900 work, but the 8200 not? At least I could understand it if all old Sanyos worked.

It almost looks like Sprint started out with the data roaming intention in mind but then later changed their mind about it.

Best buy had something like a 90 day exclusive deal on it, and then it will be in sprint stores.

I actually like the SLVR and would consider getting one if it weren't so expensive and if I was ready to give up my LX-350. As of right now I'm not.

So is the SLVR offered by Sprint or not? When I go to their website under my zip code it does not show up. I also checked Best Buy and it is not there either. I may have to switch to sprint soon and don't want to give up my SLVR

I believe Best Buy only offered the SLVR for like a month or two. I'm not sure if it's still being offered by Sprint. Haven't seen one in a few weeks.
