Question Sanyo 8400 Advice

I'm considering switching to Sprint... and getting a pair of Sanyo 8400's. My main questions are: can I sync the phones contacts up with my PC with a data cable? Can I transfer pictures that way too? What about ringtones? Can I make my own, transfer them from PC, and use them on the phone, or am I stuck only downloading them from Sprint? I'm also looking at Verizon and the LG8300. Same concerns about that one. Any advice would be helpful. THANKS!!!
