Sprint Nextel offers Seven’s e-mail services for free Sprint Nextel Corp. launched a downloadable e-mail client from Seven that allows users to access multiple accounts from various e-mail providers. The application is available as a free download to Sprint Nextel data plan subscribers on select phones. Users can access e-mail accounts from providers such as America Online, Microsoft Corp.’s Windows Live and Yahoo Inc., as well as adding POP or IMAP accounts. Each e-mail account has a separate tab on the device screen, which customers can use to navigate between accounts. “By making mobile e-mail look and act closer to the desktop e-mail experience, Sprint is giving its customers a familiar and easy way to access multiple e-mail accounts while on the go,” said Jake Baker, director of wireless data messaging and communities for Sprint Nextel. Some of the features of the e-mail client include audible alerts when messages arrive; the ability to compose messages while outside data coverage areas and save them to send later; and the option to enable push mail notification to synchronize the user’s mailbox when a new message arrives. Text messaging charges apply to the first and last options. In a separate announcement, the carrier said that now offers CDMA2000 1x EV-DO Revision A coverage in 10 markets Newly added cities include Sacramento, Calif. and Salt Lake City; other launched markets include San Diego; Las Vegas; Milwaukee; Seattle; Hartford, Conn.; Boston; Buffalo/Rochester, N.Y.; and Pittsburgh. http://www.rcrnews.com/news.cms?newsId=27857 |
