Default PRL Update Difficulties

Why is it that you have to call in and then wait for rep in order to get a PRL update? I don't know if other companies do this, but it seems unnecessary.

Why can't you just say PRL Update to the computerized voice and they send you the PRL right away? I had to wait on hold for a few minutes then give the rep my name, phone number, and a PIN before he could update my PRL. Wouldn't it be easier for everyone if the customer could just call and get the PRL from a menu and not have to wait and give information to one of the Customer Care folks? I like Sprint, but I think they could find a quicker way to handle this process.

Sprint must have a reason not to have or want a *228 like Verizon. I wonder what it is?

I just send an email after logging into my account and ask them to flag each of my lines for an update. In a few minutes I get an acknowledgement, and then a few hours later another email telling me to call *2 to get the prl. Much, much less stressful than calling into customer service. - sheureka

Thanks. That sounds like a smoother way of getting the update. Sprint makes the process more difficult than it needs to be and that is my complaint.
