The hybrid phones use IDEN for PTT only (no voice). Try looking for the hybrids on the Sprinticon side instead of Nextelicon.

Or maybe the hybrids aren't eligible for SERO.

well yes i know that and no the hybrid handsets dont show up in the Sprint side.......i already checked and that wouldnt make sense anyway cuz they started them out by only offering them to the Nextelicon cuztomers and since their main purpose is to coax the Nextelicon customers onto the Sprint network they put them on the Nextelicon side.....

what im curious about is why they dont show......why arent they eligible?

is it a technical issue.......billing system??? what is it???

It is probably because the hybrid are only availabile in certain markets. And InPhonic wants to keep things simple for them and their customers.

As of right now Hybrid phones are only available in 24 select markets and are primarily being given to existing customers as a retention tool. I've seen the phone on the website, but do not see it in the stores even though we're one of the 24 markets.

I doubt you'll find it on SERO until it's released nationwide.

ohhhh cuz i was about to say that when i went to the regular Nextelicon site.....the hybrid handset did show up there..........but why would Sprinticon want to restrain the hybrid handset usage on SERO.............where is the motive behind it.........it doesnt seem like a really good reason that they wont release it on SERO until its released everywhere on regular plans........not a very reasonable reason

The Hybrid handsets are in a Beta test phase right now. In fact, from what i heard alot of Sprinticon/Nextelicon CS doesn't know how to properly provision these phones. Inphonic and Sprinticon did the smart thing and decided to not deal with the potetnial headache.

by provision do you mean setting them up in the Sprint system since they use both networks???

Yes. This is a VERY new program for them. In fact, you can only get the phones from the Nextelicon side of the house.
