I figured that would come from a Verizonicon or a Sprinticon fan. This is July 4 not April 1.

    Cingular is alive and well.

    Have a great 4th

I don't believe that Bellsouth and SBC are going bellyup anytime soon. Think about it. Have a nice day and a great 4th.

OK, but that's to be expected as they transition their users to GSM. It has nothing to do with a bankruptcy rumor - it's just good business sense.

Operation is risky due to all these upgrades and conversions needed to make the network one.
As long as Cingular can pay the bills they will be ok. They are doing that right now.

    On a side note
It looks like the 4th of July is becoming an April 1st!

It's funny how everyone forgets so quickly. This was their plan when they announced the merger. Remember the word "synergies"?

Cingular can file for chapter 11 without affecting Bellsouth or SBC. Initially anyway. If Cingular were to file for bankruptcy somewhere along the line Bellsouth and SBC would get stuck with all the bills. As if they are not anyway. But initially it woulb be ONLY CINGULAR as it is a completely seperate company.

Gee I guess if they were to do something like that, then SBC would have a tough time with there merger of AT&Ticon Corp.
It's funny how rumors go around like this, when I see it in the news then I will believe it.

As much as they chargeicon me...I doubt they will ever go bankrupt!
    I will 2nd that

I very much doubt it, they have strong parents and they seem to be going in the right direction with losses being less. I think it will take at least a year to see how they actually are doing.

Operating at a loss or with very little income only means they are spending a lot of money (Gee, I wonder why Cingular is spending so much? )

Anyway, Cingular's revenue is the highest in the industry today. Like I said before, this was all planned since last year. 2005 is the year Cingular will have the highest CAPEX because of the merger. It will decline in 2006 and normalize in 2007. Give it time, guys!

Yes you are correct bobolito, they did say around the end of 06 to 07 & I do have faith, in the integration becoming a better network & them becoming a better company with better CS, it is still very early in the merger and alot still needs to be done, just look at that post you started on there computer integration, that still blows my mind.

I really don't think they would be going anywhere.

The real question is that after they start to lower thier capex will revanues increase enough to make up for the spending spree? For that we will have to wait and see. If not either a mom and pop bailout or bankruptcy will be required. I do believe this is why Cingular is not going to upgrade all or even most of their network to UMTS/WCDMA. As this would require building another completely new network. Again.

I know about 10 people that have a 150+ bill to bellsouth every month, just here in Scott/Campbell county area, and just think, Bellsouth Alone has service in 9 states... not counting SBC's large service area, then them taking ATTicon's old landline area ( i think? )... Cingular should be doin PRETTY GOOD... lol
