Sprinticon PCS is Greenville is managed by Airgate PCS and affiliate, coverage is okay in Greenville, but Free and Clear America plans are not available, and the 7pm N&W feature is $7 per month.

Any idea of where in Greenville you will be using them? Sprinticon and Nextelicon are both probably the providers with the worst coverage in the market.

Nextel isn't that bad in the GSP area.

Verizonicon's corporate headquarters for Car/TN is in Greenville, and they have the market share of customers in that area and keep growing, I've had zero problems with coverage when I visit there (even when I get lost and end up driving around in big circles).

T-Mobileicon to my understanding only sells service in the Hilton Head Area, the rest of South Carolina they roam with Cingular.

Cingular Wireless is quite stronge in the NC/SC area. You might want to look into them.

Any phone is fine. I would recommend the Samsung A530S for a digital-only, or Samsung A310 for a digital/analog phone. I've used both with great results in Greenville.

I've had Verizonicon for a couple years now and travel back and forth from Alabama to Greenville, SC area quite often. My coverage has been very good. Someone I know in Greenville had Cingular GSM with his old Nokia phone and had great coverage. He switched this year to Verizonicon with an LG 4500 because of the IN-Network minutes plan, free long-distance and the America's Choice plan due to travel. He seems to drop calls more often with the 4500. The LG 4400B actually seemed to work better. However, both Cingular and Verizon are good choices for the Greenville, SC area. It's just a matter of which plan and phone works better for you. Good luck.

For Cingular Wireless I'd recommend the Nokia 3595, SamSung X427, or the Motorolaicon V400.

The LG VX4400B, in my experience, performs much better than the LG VX4500. My mother had an LG VX4500 and, though she loved the phone, it dropped calls right and left and had dropped way too many packets in an area where the VX4400B (and her new CDM-8600) work great.
