Join Date: May 2004 Location: Virginia Posts: 7 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts	Cingular service in Eastern VA Service from Cingular in my area is out of the Baltimore Washington region. After signing up for Cingular service, I noticed that I wasn't getting caller ID. Apparently, the 804 area code represents such a small part of the Balt-Wash market Cingular has elected not to make the necessary upgrades... We have phone service, but no Caller ID... Anyone experienced a similar problem? The sales people are completely unaware of this situation. Probably because Cingular has no stores in the 804 area code. Phones have to be bought in Fredericksburg (540), Northern Va (703), DC (202) or Maryland (301,410). The problem is that the Cingular license serves an insignificant area code 804 popluation, in terms of market, and apparently there is no economic incentive to make upgrades... Ah.... such is life... Looks like Verizon is the only viable alternative...
