Default I made the switch to US CELLULAR from VERIZON.. best phone for US Cellular in OK.

I finally made the change and dumped Verizon after they overcharged me minutes after the change to the PTT plan... and the fact that Verizon seemed to drop calls in OK some of the time.

I brought a basic phone the Nokia 6019 to try out. Is this a good phone? Seems to hold the signal whether it's a full signal or a half signal in my motel room. The phone has not left the Tulsa area as of yet to see how good it is in the sticks... So far not bad... A friend of mine from Michigan who has verizon came to town and dropped calls here too so I dont think it was just me.. I dont need a camera phone really..all I wanted was a basic phone that will hold the signal well and not drop calls.. and a speakerphone... I thought the extendable attenna would hold the signal better than the stub.. does that matter? Hope to hear opinions on the phones for US Cellular... Like Verizon they are very limited... Thanks guys...

Old US Cellular regional plan... 650 minutes 3000 regional nights and weekends... free incoming calls in the local area... and by getting a 405 area code number instead of a 918 number my plan is $20 (for the first year) + $4.95 for the 3000 nights and weekends in the regional area 9pm-6am.. makes it $24.95 a month half of what I was paying with Verizon for the PTT plan... which is useless in OK... The special is happening in the 405 market only because it is a new market and they want customers... I didnt care whether I have a 918 or a 405 number.... Regional states in this plan are IL, IN, IA, WI most of, MO, AR, OK, KS, NE, and TX and a small portion of MN between Albert Lea and Rochester and Winona along I-90

But this is a good deal for OKlahoma City/Stillwater customers thinking about getting a cellular phone and service and staying close to home... After the first year it will go back to the $40 + $4.95 for a total of $44.95 and by then I will switch to the national plan below that they are rolling out...

The regional plans are no longer advertised now as they did away with that (remember when Verizon had regional plans) and brought out the new national plans with no roaming... however the lowest national plan is $49.95...
This gives you 800 anytime minutes + either free incoming calls in the local calling area or unlimited mobile to mobile with other US Cellular customers... you can add for $5.95 making it a total of 55.90 unlimited nights and weekends starting at 7pm - 659am but it will only apply in the local us cellular coverage area for the region... if you are outside it takes off from your anytime minutes... I will probably go to this plan if I ever have to leave the regional calling area frequently...
