No link, but I do know that T-Mobile is making a significant upgrade to the entire Suncom network - it's been going on for some time, with planning even before the merger closed.

usually an upgrade of that size would be to get ready for 3G and will probably take between 1.5 and 2 years from start to finish at best, thats if alot of them are co-locations, if alot of them are new towers, it could take longer, it just depends.

note: i am not a network engineer, but i have seen first hand how long build outs take as ive been able to study them in my area, it is not a very quick event but a series of small events based and planned out over a timeline.

Well I don't have details, but I've heard that the actual number of new locations throughout the former Suncom area in the Carolinas is in the hundreds. I was amazed myslef when I heard about it....
