Hello, Thanks for your welcoming. I need assistance. I have just purchased the TREO 700wx, for purpose of combining cell phone and planner. Because of personal and work related materials, I want to lock my system, but I also want to be able to answer incoming calls (when I am not working with other applications). It is very frustrating to have to rush and put in my password in order to catch the phone. What can I do - what can be done? drjrwalton |

I have reached my limits of frustration after converting from the Treo 650 Palm Based phone to the Treo 700wx (urggh, Windows based phone) over the past two weeks. But alas, for me and all the other frustrated "Treo 700wx fervent password typers to answer the phone users" (correct clinical or cynical medical diagnosis), I think I found the solution to allow answering the Treo 700wx when the phone is locked versus throwing it against the wall (note - throwing it against the wall only makes the user feel better - it doesn't allow you to answer the phone.) 1. Delete all user information from the welcome screen (The Owner Information Button under Settings/Personal/Owner Information). It appears that this screen popping up keeps a lock on everything. I have since used a Sharpie to inscribe "XO" on the back of the phone. 2. I marked Power as always on when on battery power, (Settings/System/Power/Advanced - ensure the box is not check under the "on battery power" setting and the "on external power" setting.) 3. To prevent unauthorized access - go to Settings/Lock and change the unused time to a lesser time. I have five (5) minutes selected. To answer an incoming call when the phone is locked - you should be able to use the upper left function key which should operate the "Answer" button on the screen (the long horizontal key above the green phone and, urggh Windows symbol button). You can also answer the phone by selecting the "Green Phone Button." |
