Does anyone have any experience with ordering phones from online vendors? I'm looking at www.wirefly.com and they seem to have very good prices with their phones. I'm thinking about ordering from them, unless anyone can provide any reasons for me not to. Thanks for viewing.

You are thinking about making a major expenditure over the internet. Although, I have made purchases online, the amounts were always under $100.00. The one exception was the time I purchased an exercise bike. Before making the purchase, I made sure of the following: Listing with BBB, a number to call in the event of a problem (800 number etc. with a real person not a machine) a written return policy, a secure website (https). If you take these safeguards, I think that the only problem you will have, is the same as you may have if you purchased the phone in the traditional way.

Amazon.com has very competitive prices and is extremely reliable and safe. They sell the latest phones for most of the wireless carriers. I have bought many items from Amazon including cellphones. Take a look at Amazon.com Cellphones

Amazon is fantastic. If you are purchasing ATT, Sprint, Nextel or TMO I would check them out. Otherwise, purchasing online is usually fine, although you have to be careful. If you are activating it online (giving them your SSN) I would be even more careful. I would make sure they have a street address and check it in the yellowpages to make sure it actually exists.
