First, Happy Holidays to you and your family and welcome to WA. You can get a list of Verizon phones by going to their website. Select the ones that interest you, then go to www.phonescoop.com to get ratings and reviews. After picking the one that is right for you, go to a Verizon store and test it for up to 15 days. Good luck.

Welcome to WA, and Happy Holidays! Like Rich said, phonescoop.com is awesome and has all the phones that are currently available, user reviews on them, pictures, and what features they have. Good luck with your new carrier. |

Happy Holidays from me as well; as everyone else suggested, phonescoop is a great website, also if you go to Verizon's website and look at the phones you can come back here and post the phones you are interested in and we can give you fast feedback as well. Welcome to Wireless Advisor, Andy |

Thx for the welcome everyone... and Merry Christmas!! I took a look and since I am replacing a pair of phones, I looked at all the "Buy1 Get Up to 3 Free" phones".... After comparing all of them and coming down to the A670 and the VX-6100, I have decided on the VX6100.. Here are a couple of questions concerning I still have 1) Tmobile had a $49.99 plan that gave me 400 minutes shared across 2 phones. Verizon looks to be $39.99 + $20 for each additional...Is there anyway to lower that to Tmobile rates?? That $10/month extra could be a deal breaker. 2)Where would be a good place to get extra accessories?? If Verizon is like anywhere else, they are a bit pricey in this area.. Ebay, etc?? 3)What is this extra "100 Bonus Home Airtime Minutes to Share" offered with familyshare plans? 4)What about the detailed billing for an extra $2.99/month?? I believe I get that for free from Tmobile...?? thanks for all the help...It is really appreciated Bama |

Need some clarification here..my mom and dad just got new phones from VZW and their phone receipts show they have 30 days (as opposed to 15) for the test/trial period....she read me the receipt verbatim...is this a new policy? Anyone else know?

Welcome to WA Bama!!!! Unfortunately, VZW will not lower the price on their family plans. The good news is that they now give 100 extra minutes to share per account. The bonus minutes will be for the life of your plan but they are only offering this promo for a limited time. The $ 39.99 used to give you only 400 anytime minutes to share. If you sign up now, you'll get 500 anytime to share. This is on top of the unlimited night and weekend minutes, free nationwide long distance, and free national "IN Calling," to all 42+ million VZW customers anytime. It is true VZW is not the best in every single US town, but if you travel a lot, you will appreciate the huge coverage area VZW provides. Check out their maps. You have a huge digital coverage area and with some phones you have the ability to roam on Analog where there is no digital service. VZW is not the cheapest when you compare them to T-Mobile, but nonetheless are still very competitive with their pricing. With all the added competition lately, expect them to offer more incentives to buy your business. VZW also has perks like free holidays and competitive Int. LD rates to many countries thanks to Vodafone. VZW is also deploying a fast high speed wireless internet and new multi-media packages soon to go with it. If you get the LG, you'll have more features to play with including a speakerphone plus VZW seems to get more applications made available to LG's with their GET IT NOW service. The Sammy lacks a speakerphone, but makes up for it in its good looks and solid feel. With the Sammy, you'll now be able to pull out your antenna which will be new to you since T-Mobile phone's don't have retractable antennae. Tell us where you live. VZW may or may not work the best in your area. We will try to help you make the best decision. Good luck.

Your Daddy, Thanks for the help...That's too bad about the pricing...I guess I will sit and chat with the wife and see what happens..We are going to a VZ store this afternoon to check the Sammy and the 6100.. I live in zip 35806 and the coverage looks very good... I was thinking with the speakerphone on the LG, that I would not need a headset...Is that true in most cases?? thx again Mark |

I really like the 6100. In my experience though, the speakerphone is useful to hear the other party speaking but having a two way conversation can be difficult. My coworker who sits across from me uses the speakerphone when he is put on hold while calling someone or to hear his voicemail. When he tries to carry a conversation with it, the other party can't hear him well. The speakerphone also does not operate while the flip is closed. This could just be his phone so don't quote me on it. I would go to the VZW store and ask to make test calls with the 6100 while on speaker mode and see if it is acceptable for you. Maybe they'll let you test it while in your car with the radio on so you can see if it's still loud enough for you while driving. Also, be aware that LG phones sometimes are very conservative with the signal meter. Don't be fooled. You usually can still hold a clear conversation even with one or two bars. When testing the phone I've pulled good signal measurements even with one bar on the signal indicator.

Also, don't forget that there could also be some phones in the store that aren't listed online. If the store you visit still has VX6000s left, they will sell them before the VX6100s.
