Well suncom is a southern carrier so it is kind of relative, but to be honest this is a bit overdoing it as far as flaming a carrier is concerned.

Yes, I guess it's a loose connection so as to try not to censor anybody and it being a southern carrier .... I see your point.

With all the bad comments regarding SunCom I will try to say something nice about them .... They had a lot of nicely built stores in very good locations in Bristol when I visited there a couple weeks ago. I'm surprised the company just isn't doing better from people that wander into them by chance and sign up for service.

If their service was up to par then they wouldn't have a problem, but it simply isn't at least not in most areas. I have heard good things about them in Charlotte though.

I think it's kind of funny.

I'd be tempted to do the same thing if a company treated me sufficiently badly.

There's something to be said about being the bigger man here, but I'll skip it. The thing is, business is war, always has been, and to be at war means you never want to force your hand by giving away your current state to your opponent. That's why companies spend so much on making sure their employees speak the business language and why correspondance is always so dry and formal. It sets a very neutral tone while still remaining, respectful and possibly tactful. The op here only conveyed his outrage to one person at SunCom, most likely the letter got trashed afterwards and chances are it was a poor kid who's working as a clerk, or something of the like, that had to put up with the OP's abusive nature. I guess you could consider it fair under guilt by association, but I don't see it. Further, the OP's attacks against suncom make them much less likely to go down without a fight should it come to a court matter.

nKrypteD1, the consummate professional online that I'm sure he is in real-life.

From the complaints I hear, SunCom is probably a company that is use to taking complaints, so those employees are probably on the edge of nervousness at times and try to hold their tongues in response and just stand there so they won't be fired. It's just a tough situation for a SunCom rep in most places I believe.

Most likely, at least in regards to being in a tough situation, but then again you have to consider, no matter how bad or good a company is you'll always have employee's who will do anything to get away with doing nothing, as well as, employees that will bend of backwards to help someone. Personally, I think that T-mobile just needs to step in and buy out Suncom, restructure their network a bit and get rid of the whole lot, let the employee's re-interview for their positions, and see who makes the cut. Suncom has a very bleak future as far as I can see and I think a buyout is imminent, the question simply is who is going to buy them.

I agree 100% with that. I think it's funny, not necessarily smart. Although I might be tempted, I probably wouldn't actually do it myself. Oh, I also agree it is a bit childish, but it's still funny! Children seem to have more fun and seem to be happier than non-children, so being a little childish isn't always that bad.

Anyway, it would be better to detail all the reasons you are unhappy with SunCom than simply bash them. Expressing disappointment without all the rage is certainly preferable.

If I got a letter like this, I would think either the company has really let this person down, or this person is just crazy. I wouldn't ignore such a letter just because the customer lacks tact. With or without tact, he is still an unhappy customer, and that needs to be rectified. I would see if there are any notes associated with his account in an effort to ascertain which the case is. If I thought there is any chance he isn't simply crazy, I would give him a call to try to see if there is any way to keep him as a customer. I would be ready for an earful of shouting, and I would patiently sit through that. Once that is over I would ask what the problem is. If I thought the customer had a good reason (and maybe even if it isn't such a good reason) for being upset, I would apologize and try to appease the customer.

Although retail customers might try to start a wars with a company (whether justified or not), I think a company should try its best to end such conflicts before they escalate. Happy customers are good for the bottom line. Of course, some customers really are crazy, and the bottom line is better without them. Hopefully, that's a rare situation, though.

Of course this is what needs to happen but do you think it really will? I'm starting to have my doubts. T-Mobile has needed to do this for a long-time and hasn't, they just bought spectrum for the bulk of the Carolinas they're missing in the AWS Auction, SunCom has started gaining increased revenue from T-Mobile roaming in the Carolinas, and SunCom is acting more like a 'captain going down the ship' by recently selling their towers. I'm starting to wander if that will ever actually happen???

If it's going to happen I just think it would have happened before it got this bad. It's just got the feel that there's somebody somewhere too stubborn to agree to the move and SunCom might be destined for a much harder landing.

Perhaps, but try going 20 miles north and you'll find a 6,000-person dead spot which has gotten worse since SunCom took over the old ATTWS network. Actually, I say that as a whole - the ATTWS/SunCom network has gotten worse since SunCom took it over, at least in Charlotte and the Triad.
