Verizon peak minutes question.

Hello all, sorry if this has been discussed before; I was speaking to a friend of mine who works for VZW and he mentioned how they are somewhat shady in that the free nights start at 9:01 P.M. which I knew, then he mentioned if you start a call at say 9 P.M. it will detuct peak minutes from then until you disconnect. In other words you would have to hang up and call at one minute after nine to get the true free night calls. Is there any truth to this? By the way, he seemed very secretive about it and said he did not want to disclose too much information. Thank you in advance.

It actually depends on which market you live in. For most markets the above isn't true. And it's not shady at all, it's in the fine print of the contract.

Correct, here in the West, it will change to off-peak, etc. if you make a 'spanned' call.
