Default Wireless Coverage - Greensboro, NC

I am new to the Greensboro area and currently have Verizon Wirelessicon. I can not drive through town without dropping calls. The service coverage is bad. Specifically, I live on the north side of Greensboro in Summerfield. I work south of I-40 close to the airport. Does anyone know from experience if there is a service provider with great signal strength coverage in this area. Thanks, anything will help.

No matter what you decide, take advantage of the carriers' trial periods... Why not try Alltel; they seem to have the Carolinas covered pretty well

Alltel is excellent here. I live 4 miles from the skyline of Charlotte and had to ditch Verizonicon due to poor signal at my home..Alltel is great! And you roam for free in most places outside of Alltel's coverage area on Verizonicon and Sprinticon! Alltel's plans are much cheaper and you can get My Circle!

I think Alltel has a 15 day trial. So you can try it and see if it is something you would want. But I think if you try Alltel you will love them.

VZW and Alltel are the best without question in the Triad. (I live in Winston-Salem and go to school in Davidson, so I really live in both places.) That's not to say that Cingular and Sprint PCS don't work well - they do, and better in some areas, but I've found poor signal to be rarer with VZW and Alltel. If you're having problems with VZW, try a different phone (for exactly this reason, VZW swapped out my mother's VX4500 for a Audiovox CDM-8600, which, amazingly, worked better) or try Alltel. (Changing providers wasn't an option because VZW's M2M is too important.)

Let me restate: my suggestion is to try Alltel. I have no interest in keeping you with VZW, but if you're under contract, demanding a different phone at a store may help you keep calls and save you the ETF. If you're not under contract, go to Alltel.

The only provider that I really recommend against is SunCom Wireless. I've had problems with them, but my PPU with them was in Davidson, NC, where there was basically no signal. I had fewer problems in the Triad, but my experiences weren't positive overall even in Winston.

Which is precisely why I say that if he's under contract, try a new phone (technical support should swap it out) and save the ETF. Otherwise, just go to Alltel. Reread the second paragraph of my post.
