Default Wilkes Cellular GSM Update

following up on roamer1's post a couple of weeks ago...

i drove down GA17 this weekend. when i approached Washington, my T616 found wilkes cellular but wouldn't register [with my SunCom SIM]. on my return trip, i placed my t-mobile SIM in my T616 and was able to place a couple of calls. the operator logo read "telemetrix," the company that's providing switching for wilkes. i also saw a billboard for via wireless which said "coming soon." apparently, given the coverage only one site was up.
pareto has left the building.

Good to hear!

I wonder if they got the inability to place/receive calls fixed...

BTW: if you were picking up signal in Washington they're up to two sites, since the Crawfordville/Sharon site doesn't reach Washington. (Wilkes's Washington AMPS cell site is on a large tower behind their offices.)
