OK someone help me out here. My wife wasn't using enough minutes to justify the 500 min/mo AC plan that she had so she called Customer Service and asked for her plan to be reduced to the 400 min/mo AC plan. Her contract was only 8 months old so she already had the unlimited night and weekends that come with today's plans. The only change in her plan should have been the number of minutes. They restarted her contract effective with the date of this change. I thought that you could change the number of minutes within your plan without starting a new contract date as long as you didn't change any promotions. Does anyone know what the rules really say? Did she have to start a new contract just to reduce the number of minutes that she had? Also, if the CS rep could have made this change without restarting her contract, can you point me to something in writing to back this up? Thanks! |

Get your contract out and start reading. I don't remember anything about changing the number of minutes without getting a new agreement, but I didn't pay that much attention.

Sorry to break this to you but most companies will restart a contract if you make a change especially if its after 6 months into the contract.I could be wrong but i think Verizon is the most strict about this.

Just wanted to Clarify that i think that Some Cell phone Companies wont extend it if you make point of saying you dont want to.But if you are getting new equipment then every company wants a extention.I think Verzion is the most strict with this i hope that clarifies a little better.

If you didn't go on a new promotion and just changed your plan, it will not extend your contract. (part of their worry free guarantee) give them a call and let them know what happened and they can go in and adjust your contract date for you.

As WirelessBeachBum said if your promotion in your plan changes then your conctract is renewed. you can call it off if it has not passed 15 days yet. What probably changed was the In-Network Calling. In the past you could only do In Network calling on Verizon's network. If you upgrade you plan In Network calling includes roaming partners so that is a very small but a change in the promotion. of unlimted Night and weekends and In-Network Calling with roaming partners. that is probably what happen, but give them a call to clarify that |
