I've had suncom for over a year now and after the force/promotional upgrade to the unplan platinum a while back I still stayed with them. Recently I upgraded my plan by $2 for the I-Net service. Aparently you're supposed to pay extra to actually use GPRS on laptop through your phone because I can't get it to work and that's all their customer service will tell me. I spoke with several technicians though and they all tell me that I have to upgrade to at least the $7/mo for 2MB which seems rediculous since most web sites these days are WAY over 2MB. I mean I connected my phone to my laptop through a data cable and am able to make a connection to the GPRS network. The G appears on my phone and when I run ipconfig /all I can see that I have a new address everytime I connect. The connection speed is aparently 115.2kbps also, BUT there is NO traffic being sent. I can only ping myself and the loopback address. I can't even ping the gateway or DNS servers which is strange. If anybody knows how to work around this or who I could ask please let me know. I bought the 7210 because it has a dialup modem in it and I could at least use it that way, however I am unable to create a working dialer for any ISP. I've also looked into WAP browsers made for windows in order to see if it's a network issue with SunCom blocking anything but WAP sites, but I still can't get anything. Is there some setting I'm missing? Please help...ANYBODY!!!. Thanks. |

Well I realize that ILink exists but I also realize that their rates are extremely unreasonable. Does anybody know of a work around to get I-Net to work on a PC?

There is no work around. If you want to hook up a data card or your cell phone to your notebook computer to surf the net you have to use iLink.
