at&t and sms and voice mail

I was wondering if anyone in the Dallas area has been able to send sms to europe under the at&t wireless network. i particularly interested in sending sms to Swiss Com network, VodaFone network, and Movistar network. i hope at&t does work because my other option would be t-mobile which i would work, cause the home office is in europe.

another thing about at&t is the fact that when search on the web, voice mail is not included in a calling plan. the page states that "The following features may be available free upon request" and voice mail is one of the listed option. any recent subcriber know if it is free?

i was reading on another forum, http://www.cellular-news.com/ that at&t will not have sms service to international numbers until march, but you can send sms with an at&t gsm back to the states. anyone heard anything else?
