I ordered the T226 from ebay. I currently use the 6340i on a gait plan with cingular. My question is this..... When my 226 gets here, can I change my plan to GSM on cingular's website and pop my sim card into the 226, or do I also need to contact cingular to finalize the change? thanks in advance for all replies! Actually you dont have to change the plan if you dont want to, there is an advantage of leaving it on the GAIT plan, if you travel to an area that does not have GSM coverage, you can just pop your sim into the Nokia and be good to go, if you change plans, you would be out of luck. There are no differences between the GAIT sim and a regular sim, my wife was never on a GAIT plan, she originally used a T226, which got ran over by a golf cart ( darn kids!!! ). I picked up the Nokia 6340i on Ebay and her sim worked fine in it, now she has a LG 1300 that I bought her, and the sim works fiine in that also. |

Well folks, here is the update. I activated the SE T237 today. (I decided to just go into the store and upgrade the phone, they did it for free and gave me the 15-day return option if it didn't work out.) I'm just gonna sell the T226 from ebay when it comes in on Monday. I am beginning to think my problems with reception were caused by that old piece of sh*t Nokia 6340i and the gait plan. I now have a 5 bar full strength signal at (and in!) my apartment where i barely had a signal before. I was almost ready to give cingular the heave-ho I also like the speakerphone too. It rocks! |

another update i liked the T237, but the controls were just too small, especially driving down the road, so I returned it and got the LG C1300. Another great phone, and signal quality is excellent with this one as well..... |

You must have had a bad Nokia, when my wife had that phone, it would get good reception, which in our case was bad, it would actually get a Cingular signal in our house......Now the 1300 that she has now, it wont hold onto that weak signal....which is a good thing because there is a Cellular One tower a half mile away |
