Default Text msg to and from US/UK

I am English and all my family and friends back in the UK spend a large part of the phone time sending text message, now this has not caught on so far back in the USA, but I am trying to find a phone, Plan, Phone service that will allow me to do this, does anybody have any ideas who may be the best to use for this service, I was hoping to Use a pre paid plan but virgin phones will not allow me to send text messages to and from the US/UK unless there phone is web based, and has an email address,.

Any body got any good ideas............:

i believe if you call any of the major cell carriers, they can remove their block on international calls. dont know if this will also make text messaging work or not though.

T-Mobile works best on International Text Messaging.

T-Mobile USA will work best for international SMS, but Orange customers in the UK can't send SMS to T-Mobile USA.
