Default Best plan and carrier?

About to go wireless for first time. Live in Fl. Travel the east coast up to Mass. Use no more than 150 minutes per month long distance. Do not need all the bells and witles, e.g., caller ID, internet, etc. Just want to make old fashioned phone calls without ANY long distance charges or roaming charges

Default Best plan and carrier?

I too live in Florida and drive to Mass. every year or so. Pretty much all the companies' plans include caller ID, call waiting, etc. so you are pretty much shopping for service. Of course coverage along I-95, is important to you. I drove Jacksonville to Quincy this summer with my Verizon and T-Mobile phones. At the same time, two of my kids drove the same trip (in a separate car.) One of the kids has ATTWS and the other has Cingular. So, I can give you a pretty good critique on those four carriers. The best coverage was with Verizon and Cingular. ATTWS had pretty decent coverage, but my daughter with ATTWS plan didn't include free roaming, so she ended up with a pretty hefty bill for the trip. My T-Mobile phone was without service in parts of northern North Carolina, and southern Virginia. Other than that part of the trip, T-Mo coverage was pretty good. (It was roaming in the Carolinas, but with no extra charge with T-Mo.
