I have a v60i with AT&T... When I hold down 1 it dials my voicemail and my greeting starts playing and then i have to hit # and then my password. I have the voicemail number stored as "555-555-5555w#1234" with... 555-555-5555 as my phone number and 1234 as my password However, my speed dial 1 number is empty. Its a pain b/c whenever I add a new phonebook entry it always prompts to put it in the 1st speed dial position. However, since my voicemail already can be gotten by holding down 1 that should be the speed dial position 1 but if I program my voicemail into my phone as a phonebook entry and save it in the first position, it will show up in my phonebook and take up space and my password can be easily seen. Am I doing something wrong? My old nokia phone didn't allow you to put anything in the first speed dial position since voicemail was taken and when you held down the #1 key, it took you directly to voicemail and you didn't have to push # but with my phone when I hold down the 1 it is just like as if I was calling my voicemail from something other than my own cell phone and i have to press # and password. Any ideas? I already did a search on this forum and the following post was the only thing I could come up with although it was more for entering # and doing a trick for voicemail only in BC/Ontario... Voicemail Number Discussion ALSO, with my old phone/service, when someone called my number and was going to leave me a message, they had the option of pressing 1 and entering their number or something. has that option w/ at&t been taken away and now people can only leave a voice message or is that numeric message thing still work and how do I do it? Thanks! |

I can't tell you about the phone, but I know the numeric paging option. With ATT voice mail if you want to send a page, you press 5 during the message. You will have to change your greeting to tell the caller about this option, because I don't think either system greeting will mention it. edit: One other note. ATT voice mail doesn't time stamp your messages unless you set it do to so. At least that's the way mine was. |

On a v60i (or v60g) you can store your numbers on your phone or on the SIM. If it is on the SIM then the voice command and some of the other features will not work. That may be why the 1st position is empty, the number may be on the SIM.

He has a v60i TDMA with ATT (he has posted this question in a number of other areas) Why are you afraid to enter your password into the phonebook as entry number 1? If I have stolen your phone, I can already access your voicemail by pressing 1, and I can even get to your password if I look in the right place. I don't see how you are any worse off if you enter your voicemail into your phonebook in the #1 position. You should probably change your password if you loose your phone anyway. If you are really worried about security, change your lock and programming codes, and then lock up the phone so that you have to enter a password before you can access the address book. |

I had problems setting up my voicemail and programming it into my speed dial...but i called customer care line and they got me through it. You call them at 1-800-888-7600. They can explain it a lot better than I can. I don't know if you have already tried that path or not. It's worth a shot if you haven't. I hope that helps.

go to your phone book enter you wireless # to a phone book entry and save it to speed dial #1......as far as it automatically putting in your pass code you have to put in the pauses and the # and then your pass code after your wireless #.......will look like this in the speed dial entry 555-555-5555pp#1111
