Hi Gurus, I was wanting to purchase a verizon cell service in tallahassee and was wondering for feedback from you guys. Is the AC plan of verizon good enough in areas near tallahassee. Also what do you guys think will be the new plans coming up on Oct 15. Will the plans be better than AC ? Please give me your feedback as I have to decide on the AC plan before it is expired. Do you have any information if Verizon also gives you some interest on your deposit like Sprint does? If yes how much interest rate does Verizon give. They are asking me for a 400 $ deposit. Also any feedback on people using the Smasung SCH T300 is appreciated. Ossidon |

Verizon's AC coverage was just fine the last time I was in Tallahassee (this summer). If you go southwest, you may have trouble. I lost coverage just south of Medart, picked up some analog coverage in Carabelle, and lost it again heading towards St. George's Island.

As far as the deposit goes, they give you 3% interest, I do believe, and you get it back after 1 year. They send you a check for the original deposit amount + any interest accrued. As far as I know, there are no new AC plans coming out on Oct 15th, only new local plans, but the information I've seen could very well be wrong.

That's an insane deposit, but look at it this way, you are earning a nice amount of interest, as much as a CD. Ok, the rates suck 3%, but that is what CD's are, boo bush and his crappy economy, oh wait, must talk about Iraq...

$400 isn't actually that bad of a deposit. I've heard of deposits with some wireless carriers being as high as $1,000.

I had Verizon service in Florida after relocating from NY and would not recommend it no matter what the options, features, deposit requirements. They charged me eroneously, then credited me, but still sent me to collection. It was a 3 month nightmare that ruined my perfect credit. Be Careful!! Trish Warren |
