Default need help in Raleigh, North Carolina

I have an Alltell local plan and have recently added at&t gsm with a sony ericsson t68 because I need the unlimited minutes for my job while in the city and the alltell for emergencies while in rural areas. I live in the heart of Raleigh, inside the beltline in an older house and with the alltell service it starts clicking when I enter my driveway and with the gsm i have 0 bars inside my house but 1-2 bars outside. I really need service inside with this phone. Since the gsm is new will it get stronger? or will I never have service inside my house? This is really frustrating. Any suggestions? Also, anyone know why the Raleigh area does not have t mobile or cricket or suncom because the unplan would be perfect for my needs. I need service with alot of minutes? Any help is greatly appreciated as I am a novice with these kind of things.

SunCom (Triton PCS) does not have service in Raleigh, NC because AT&T has coverage in that area. Since SunCom is a member of the AT&T Wireless Network they agree not to compete in the same markets. So you will never have both SunCom and AT&T in the same market, you may have one or the other but never both.

and to answer your question about coverage inside your house, unless AT&T builds a tower closer than their existing one, you won't have coverage... the signal will not get "stronger" at all. However, you may wish to try another phone, as the T68i has been known to be flaky in weak signal areas. Try something with an external stub antenna perhaps. That would mean giving up your T68i with all its cool features, though, so I dunno if you'll be willing to do that. 1900Mhz carriers are notorious for having problems penetrating houses and buildings, which is obvious because you get signal outside but not inside. You may want to see if you get signal near the windows and just use your phone there (which would admittedly be a pain in the butt).

i also have the same problem with att in my house with the gsm service, but be assured that gsm coverage in the raliegh, greensboro, chatlotte, winston are will be expanding,,,,,verry soon! att is dumping all their resource capitol into expanding their gsm market and hardly touching the existing tdma market. you may want to move to another house ...lol.....or try the siemens s46, which has a stubby ant., however its not color, and not as "cool". check with cingular about some of their high end plans as you can get more bang for your buck with them, more over t-mobile/voicestream, alltel, and verizon....3364560115

The GSM coverage will be expanding, but they need to step it up. ATT's current GSM map is nothing short of pathetic. Otherwise, I'm quite happy with my service to this point.

If you need service with a lot of minutes, the last thing you want is a provider with a poor reputatino for network reliability (ie Suncom and T Mobile)

Try Verizon Wireless. They have very good rates, excellent local promotions, and the best network in Raleigh.
