Default "EXTENDED AREA" in D.C./Baltimore on AT&T?

i'm getting a VERY STRONG "EXTENDED AREA" signal when i'm in my apt in odenton, MD, and a VERY WEAK AT&T signal......(on my nokia 3360) so if i'm outside it's pretty good about keeping 2/4 bars on AT&T but when i go inside after a while it inevidably reverts to the very strong 'extended area' signal.

Does anybody know which carrier i'm picking up as an 'extended area' on my nokia 3360?

is there a better choice for carriers in the D.C./Baltimore area? i've heard verizon is good here from other threads, but i really don't want to spend $40/month on a phone, but i NEED N&W minutes.....oh ya, i also need the phone to work (and preferrably be located) @ 'home' in knoxville, TN

any ideas?

Thanks!

If its Digital roaming my guess would be its on Cingular up there. However I can't recommend Cingular for Knoxville since its GSM there and TDMA up in the DC area. Verizon Wireless is proabely your best choice.
