Default SunCom (Telecorp) new rate plans replace old rate plans

Just got off the phone with a rep for the company i work for (they have a corporate agreement) and she said that there will be two new plans available that will replace two old plans...

Digital Advantage replaces "Simply More"
this is basically a regional plan

and

National Network replaces "National Cities"
this is att's national network plan....
if you phone says "SunCom" then u won't get charged
if it says "Roam" then u will get charged. (even if you're in TN, wich is different from the national cities plan)
AND the N&W minutes are valid all over, not just in your local area (this also is different from national cities plan)

I called regular customer service and they basically wouldn't acknowledge any of this, saying i could call back on the 13th to find out about the new plans. Typical......

After Tuesday... AT&T will begin re-provisioning handsets to get rid of the SunCom Alpha Tag....it will switch to AT&T / EXTENDED AREA / ROAM and the AT&T IRDB will be loaded.

It will take a couple weeks for them to reprovision all SunCom customers.

No...they will update your phone over the air. The update will change your alpha tag, and also change the IRDB in the phone so that your phone will use AT&Ts preferred roaming partners. SunCom had blocked out Verizon in a number of cities in KY, TN and AL. AT&T allows you to roam on these systems...although it is the 3rd choice after their own systems and/or Cingular.

If you want a new phone, they are giving 5165s for free for the month of August if you sign up for another year though.

i just got off the phoen with a rep and she said that if i wanted to switch to the national network plan,

I HAD TO SIGN UP FOR ANOTHER YEAR AGREEMENT,

no matter what, even if i wanted to keep my current phone.....that's crap!

Me thinks that AT&T may not be better than SunCom was....

Cingular is looking very inviting, no roaming whatsoever, and plans are cheaper, i can get one fo $30/month instead of $35........

The 200 bonus minutes ARE available to Telecorp customers..the website -attwireless-welcome.com just doesn't show it like the attws.com site does.

but those are only mobile to mobile minutes......right?

so it's not really like you are getting 500 anytime minutes, i mean, you can't use those extra minutes to call a land line, right?

One CS person I called Tuesday morning said that he had been told it might take 4 to 6 weeks for all phones to be re-provisioned.
The introductory SunCom splash screen will probably remain and not be eliminated by the OTA adjustment.

the mins are not mobile to mobile... they are 200 bonus mins on the plan. for example the digital advantage 350 get 200 bonus mins for a total of 550 anytime plan mins. It also comes with 3000 N&W from 9:00pm - 5:59am.
