Hi, I have a SPVe200 (O2 Xphone, i-mate Spartphone2). It runs on the 900/1800/1900 band. I just signed with T-moblile. I have been with them for 4 days so I can drop them like a bad habit if I need to. I was with t-mobile in 2003 and Cingular from 1999-2004 (rarely used in 2003-2004) and Verizon in 2003-2004. T-mobile was good but so was Cingualr. I am going back to the GSM network because I have more phone options. The concern I have is how well will the e200 work on Cingulars network since it has no 850? I am in Atlanta and I do not know it it is mostly 850 or 1900 or a combination. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Mark |

Cingular uses only 850 GSM in the Atlanta area. From what I understand some 850 markets are even blocked from using 1900 only phones so you won't be roaming all the time in your home market which costs Cingular money. Sorry but the SPVe200 will not work for Cingular in the Atlanta area. You'll definately need a 850/1900 GSM phone for Cingular in Atlanta. |

If you can test and post your results, I'd be interested to know if it will let you roam on AT&T or someone else.

Even if it's possible to roam you will be giving up quite a bit of coverage by only using PCS in Atlanta. The 850 freqency penetrates buildings better and Cingular's 850 Network in Atlanta from what I have heard is very well built out.
