Does anyone know if it is possible to keep an old Verizon Plan (NSR) that has 2000 weekend minutes and begins at 8:00 PM Friday and ends at 7:00 AM Monday, but add Internet Web and/or Night Minutes Packages? It seems under the terms I signed up on that I was told that I could add these to the plan at any time (probably re-starting the contract). I may already have my answer though since the reps in the stores would not give me a yes or no answer, but kept pointing out how great America's Choice was. I do not want to jeopardize my old plan at all. |

Any time you make changes to a plan or promotion, it extends your contract. You can only keep the same plan if they still have the promotions. On the NSR plan, you should be able to add mobile web for the $6.99, but as far as night minutes, it can not be done. The unlimited n/w minutes for for local plans and the AC Plan. SO pretty much you're limited with the NSR Plan.

You can't get night minutes with SRN anyway. The "normal" Mobile Web plans (6.95/8.95/12.95) shouldn't break anything. Some of us are stuck unable to do anything with our plans (I have SRN+Canada 600 with the very last weekend promo -- 3500 mins -- and NO WAY am I touching anything on that account...) Also...supposedly upgrading phones in this market (Atlanta) requires changing to a "current" plan -- I got my current phone (T300) two days before the end of the SRN promos and now I'm stuck buying phones off ebay (I'm trying to get another T300 to have as a spare ) -SC

I would like to know when Verizon will offer a promo for the SRN plan to compete with Cingular and Alltel who have promo nighr/weekend minutes with their true national plans. I admit Verizon has better coverage and all and they have thjat to their advantage, but it would be nice to see a new promo come out for the SRN plan..esp night minutes.

ALLTEL's national plan isn't really that good. The Night and weekend minutes on it only apply to your local calling area, once you leave it you take off your anytime minutes.

I believe Verizon's AC plans are the competition for Cingular Nation. If not, then who is Cingular competing with? Not with NSR.

Yes, ALLTEL has 2 national plans the National Freedom Network which is similar to the Verizon AC plan and the night and weekend minutes do follow you on the network. However their total freedom plans which is no roaming period the night and weekend minutes are only good in your local calling area, once you leave it you are using your anytime minutes. |

Yes, I understand that Cingular Nation (TDMA) are the only plans that offer complete affordable national coverage. However, I was talking about their marketing aim. For the price and the amount of minutes they include it looks more like the competition for Am. Choice especially since all these quasi-national plans from AT&T and Verizon came out around the same time Cingular Nation started. Now, CIngular Nation and Nation Preferred plans are not two different choices for a single market because the Nation Preferred and Nation only are offered in different areas. Unlike Verizon NSR and AC that anyone can pick and choose one from the other.
