Default Worldcom Wireless

A telemarketer for WorldCom wireless called about a free phone and low monthly fee with free long distance. When I got the phone it was a cheap plastic, piece of ...... I didn't take it out of the box and tried to call customer service to return it. I was on hold for over one hour before I could talk with a customer service rep. They were not empowered to authorize its return. After many phone calls and time on hold I finally received a shipping label. 9 months later I receive a call from a collection agency for $ 250.00 fee for early termination. Has anyone else had a similar bad experience with WorldCom Wireless and how did you get in touch with anyone in customer service that can even speak English?

Worldcom has been frought with errors and unhappy customers I have heard situations like yours and similar to yours often on here. The good news is Worldcom is pulling out of the wireless business so hopefully for all the unhappy Worldcom customers out there you may be able to have good wireless phone service soon.

Worldcom Wireless is the worst company i have ever delt with. I returned a phone within the limit time, about a week after i figured out it was not what they said it was, i talked to the reps at W C and every thing seemed right. I wouldnt be charged for the phone or anything else according to the reps. I have received bills in the mail, i called them , they said i don't owe any thing. Each time a bill came in, i would call them. "Don't worry you don't owe anything just tear the bill up" was their reply. Now aprrox. a year later they want $ 200.oo from me. I received a letter from a collection agency. I called this agency and they themselves were very snotty. I have no way of getting in touch with WorldCom Wireless and the collection agency wouldn't give me their address or phone number. If anyone has this please let me know. Stay away from this company. Its NOT worth it!!!!!

I had a very similar experience recently! Regretfully, I signed a one year contract for WORLDCOM WIRELESS. About 6 weeks later, I realized I never got a bill. So I dialed 611 on my phone and got jacked around and placed on hold, and jacked around somemore and placed on hold again, until I finally got ahold of the department that handled my account. Then, they wouldn't let me veryify any of the info on my account, nor would they even discuss anything on the account because apparantly, only my husband was on the account. So I then requested to speak with a manager and they REFUSED! They said that "(I) You do not have a right to ask for a supervisor" and that I would not allow me to speak with them unless my husband called and gave his permission to discuss our account. So I hung up and called right back and got a new bimbo on the phone who asked for my husbands work number so that she could call him herself and get permission. Then she asked if I would wait on hold. I said sure, but please make it quick becasue I am at work, as is my husband and we are both very busy! So she suddenly puts me on hold and leaves me there for over 15 minutes without so much as an update on her progress. So I picked up another phone line to call my husband at work and he says that she never even called him. So now my husband if ticked off, to say the least, and he calls, gets jacked around, placed on hold, jacked around somemore , placed on hold again and finally he gets some overpaid idiot who is able to give him info on our account. Turns out that they did not put our unit number to our townhome on the account and the invoice was returned twice, so they say. Then they tell him that the account is passed due now and that is not good because the account is brand new. They "assured" that it would not show against our credit report...YEAH RIGHT! I'll believe that when I (don't) see it! We both told WORLDCOM that we do not like their service and wished to cancel our agreement. Then they said that there would be a $250 early cancellation fee and were not willing to budge in the least. I can certainly do without this sort of hassle and grief! Hopefully, I can pass my experience along to enough people so that hopefully, they will not make the same mistake we have made. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER sign a contract for these sort of things! Once they've gottcha, you're screwed and customer service goes right out the window!

I wish to heck that there was something I can do to get out of our contract without penalty, but I guess I'll have to eat it this time, dang it!

Signed,
Very Ticked Off
