I currently have two phones with cingular, one digital, one analog (broke), and one analog with verizon. I want to get a "family" plan that will cover the Anne Arundle, Howard county area plus the Salisbury, Ocean City area. Sprint seems to have the best value (using the samsung SPH-A400) but I have no experience with their service. I think staying with cingular would be okay for my wife and I on the western shore but I am not sure about our daughter who lives in Salisbury and works in Ocean City. I read the JD Powers article but the data is 6-9 months old and a lot can change. Any help or advice greatly appreciated. mikev |

Does Cingular cover that area in which your daughter is in, I know their newer plan covers all of Maryland and DC and parts of northern Virgnia, so if I was you I would go to a Cingular store and speak with a rep there, It seem like you are on one of our older rate plan that doesn't cover much area, I can tell by your older analog phone. The best thing for you is to go to a Cingular store and ask about the newer Family Talk price plans, and about upgrading your old analog phone, also add phone insurance to protect youself, if your lost your phone or if it was stolen.

My friend has Voicestream Wireless and frequently travels through and to Maryland and he hasn't complained about anything. Voicestream's 'Family Time Pooled' plan consists of 800 Nationwide anytime shared minutes, UNLIMITED mobile-to-mobile (or to any other Voicestream customer), UNLIMITED weekends, and 50 incoming text messages (on all Voicestream plans). By the way, this includes two lines of service. $69.99/month Addtional phones/lines are $10 each a month, up to three (3). |

If you go to this website, you can get two Nokia 3390's free with the Voicestream 'Family Time' plan. The site is called Inphonic. You have to go there and enter your zipcode, so that if you order, then you will get the correct phone number. Here is a link to a zipcode near my area: Inphonic - Voicestream's 'Family Time' plan. To enter your zipcode, just click the blue link at the top that says "Not Your Location? Click Here!" If you don't understand the above directions, just email me at aiwapro@msn.com with the zipcodes, or email me if you just want to ask some questions. |
