I am going on vacation to Alabama & Louisiana in a couple of weeks, and I want to know how reliable my Voicestream phone will be. It works pretty much fine everywhere else, but I just want to know about down their, never been down 'South' with it before, I from Ohio. All of your input is well-appreciated. |

VOICESTREAM WORKS WELL IN THE MAJOR CITIES THROUGHOUT ALABAMA. IF YOU WANT TO VIEW A COVERAGE MAP GO TO VOICESTREAM.COM AND SELECT PRODUCTS AND SERVICES THEN SELECT COVERAGE. WHEN THE NATIONAL COVERAGE MAP APPEARS, CLICK ON ALABAMA. THE COVERAGE DEPICTED BY THE MAP IS PRETTY ACCURATE. VOICESTREAM JUST RECENTLY STARTED COVERAGE IN LOUISANIA SO I'M NOT SURE HOW WELL IT WORKS THERE. GOOD LUCK, STEVE |

Thanks, I went on Spring Break to Alabama and Louisiana this past week, and my Voicestream service was excellent. The only place that I didn't have coverage in, was West Monroe, Louisiana. New Orleans fresh Voicestream network performed just great. Alabama was great too. All of my digital features worked too. I sent and received text messages just as I normally did. Thanks everyone. |

Well I'm not for sure if we were in the north or what, but I know I didn't have any signal whatsoever in West Monroe. New Orleans was just wonderful. I had full signal strength everywhere it seemed. Baton Rouge was ok.

According to recent maps, VS has coverage in most of southern LA (the I-10 corridor) and from Shreveport west toward Dallas on I-20. Monroe (home of CenturyTel, for what that's worth) isn't yet covered. -SC

I'm a very happy VoiceStream customer from New Orleans. Calls go through great, SMS messages are always delivered within 3 seconds. VoiceStream is a very good choice if you live in the south of Louisiana. Great Wireless Company ! See the VS map for Louisiana coverage. - No billing problems - Great customer support - Great Network |

I am going to move to Bossier in the next 6 months, and I wanted to keep my T Mobile. I really like the service.. I have visited there and had no problems right around that area, but everything north of there is gone. No service in Arkansas at all. Do you know if they are expanding northward at all? It is not crucial, I just wondered. I imagine service in Bossier is really good from the map, but I haven't been all over, so I don't know where the grey areas really are... Are you totally satisfied with your T Mobile there? Thanks!

I live in Shreveport-Bossier right now and T-mobile coverage is pretty limited... this is AT&T country. Although their maps might say that they do cover the I-20 corridor, T-mobile predominantly covers southern La. I know this because I travel to New Orleans often and have been trying to get a T-mobile SIM for my T68i for when I'm down there. AT&T coverage is excellent within the cities of Shreveport/Bossier but once you move too much off I-20 you will start losing coverage and if you go south on I-49 it will go as far as Natchitoches if you're lucky but not a peep after that till T-mobile country around Lafayette and most of the I-10 corridor. BUT that said, all carriers work great on any city located on I-20 (except apparently for West Monroe or Funroe as I called it when I went to Louisiana Tech ) so I don't predict you would have any problems keeping T-mobile in Bossier City.
