I was solicited at work, via phone in July 2000. It was a great price for the Package of goods. I carefully and slowly wrote down EVERYTHING I was promised. I had the sales person repeat it all several times to be sure of what was being promised. I gave my credit card # and entered into contract. I requested that a writen hard copy of such be sent to me. IT NEVER CAME! The phone arrived but it took them a MONTH TO GET IT ACTIVATED. Anytime I have needed to call them I've gotten put on hold for< literally, as much as 2 hours. Each time I dial the SAME 800# iget a different STATE. The catch is my phone works great,Idon't lose calls, I've traveled accross the country and can always get a fast connection, I have no roaming fees and 380 minutes free per month which is plenty for me. But why is it you can't talk to a person without waiting for a minimum of 30 minutes and why can't you reach the same person more than one time? Now their billing department has arbitrarily changed my "package" and is billing me for items I never agreed to nor was I cantacted in any way to advise or offer anything different than what I originally agreed to. MCI has no offices that I can go to and they have recently removed their corporate phone numbers from the internet. Their website offers no way to reach them axcept the one and only 800 # that puts you on automatic hold. Do you have any real info on this company and why they have become so "fly by night"? HELP!!!

MCI WorldComm does not have their own wireless network. They resell Verizon and other carriers' services. One poster even indicated that he saw Cingular as a user but I don't see how because MCI (to my knowledge) markets mostly CDMA phones. The reason for the wait is probably because they are trying to patch you through to the "real" carrier and/or they are trying to access your billing info through some data-bridge. The problem, as has been documented here several times, is that since the other carriers aren't making any money off you and you aren't really their customer even though you are using their networks, you are low priority.
