Hi, My billing cycle runs from the 15th of every month. I had to interrupt my service and reactivated during mid cycle. I used the phone for about 3 weeks before my next billing date. I am on the $59 plan with 800 minutes, and I had used about 815 minutes by March 15, which was my last billing date. I received my bill yesterday, and I am being charged $190. Customer service explained that at the time of activivation, my monthly access charge was prorated, allowing me only 500 minutes. thus i was being charged for 300 extra minutes that i had used. There is nothing in my service agreement that indicates this; no one informed me of the residual minutes at the time of activation. I was under the impression that I have full access my monthy allowable minutes. How do i go about redressing this problem - any similar experiences with other carriers. sincerely - NM |

Basically your service is prorated by the number of days you used the service...you used the phone for about 21 days and your monthly rate plan was prorated for the same number of days....so instead of your monthly access being $59.99 it should have been $41.99. ($1.99 a day for 21 days of service) And instead of getting your full 800 minutes you would have gotten about 560 minutes (26 minutes a day for 21 days of service) , since you spoke for 815 minutes you would have been billed overage charges 255 minutes (45 cents a minute x 255 minutes $114)

Another question about wireless billing: since they prorate you whenever you start service (your first bill is always huge) because they charge you a month in advance, whenever you cancel service, do you get the remainder of that month and the next month for free because they've charged you a month is advance?
