I already own a 5185i that I would like to put on the Alltel Simple Freedom network. Currently Walmart sells this same phone for the simple freedom plan. Has anyone tried this or have an opinion.

According to there FAQ section on there website you must purchase a Simple Freedom Phone to activate service with them.

Yes. Simple Freedom service requires the purchase of a Simple Freedom phone. Simple Freedom and Simple Freedom Professional Series phones may be purchased at participating Wal-Mart stores or SAM's CLUB locations.
