Thank God my family and I are about to switch to Verizon Wireless because the monthly rate we pay for ATTWS is a rip off compared to Verizon's America's Choice Plan with ATTWS my phone is 40 dollars a month including 150 anytime minutes and unlimited N&W plus unlimited incoming but i make more calls out then I receive calls so its just a waste and ATTWS has hideous coverage out here in Rome, GA and Verizon has all of Georgia covered except some minor areas but that doesnt matter compared to ATT so ditching ATTWS and going to Verizon soon!!!!!!! Please tell me if this is not a good idea or choice!!

Well, welcome to the Verizon Wireless club. I love Verizon ... I am out of the Houston area where they have won the JD Power and Assoc award 7 years in a row now. And trust me, I've tried Cingular .. OVERLOADED CIRCUITS and DROPPED CALLS. Sprint PCS .... OVERLOADED CIRCUITS AND DROPPED CALLS AND HORRIBLE COVERAGE AND HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE (you name it, and it was wrong with them)! AT&T .... POOR COVERAGE! I have not personally tired T-Mobile, but almost everyone I know that has used them has switched, and the ones that haven't plan on it. I am VERY happy with Verizon's service as well as customer satisfaction.

I've just recently switched over to Verizon from Nextel and I am in the Georgia area as well. I can honestly say that Verizon has been a smart move for me. They have been nothing but top notch to me in customer service and the coverage and plans are just great for the money.

About the northeast: what can I say? They have the best network from DE up to Boston. ATT/Cingular could compete some day, but the GSM transition is just hurting them. Sprint seems to have a good network in all the places I go around the area, so they should be doing well too. Other areas seem to be more diverse due to better PCS carriers (more GSM in Texas, CA, etc.) and different cellular carriers (US, Alltel, etc). Up here, it's Verizon/ATT/Cingular for 800 for the most part. We aren't diverse lol.
