| How much spectrum (10, 20, 30 MHz....) does Sprint have in the metro Atlanta area, and how does that compare to other major areas they cover directly? |

| I believe Sprint owns 20Mhz in Atlanta. That's the PCS D band (10Mhz), plus 10Mhz off the PCS A band they share with AT&T.

| So that leaves them and ATT with 20 each? Is 20 MHz enough for a "wireless" town like metro Atlanta? I would think they could use more. Where is VZW getting it's PCS band? How much do they have and is it turned on yet? |

| AT&T also shares the C band with Metro PCS so add that to their share of the A band. Verizon operates on the 800Mhz A band but they also have the PCS E band which is 10Mhz. Very messy with the band arrangements in Atlanta: For Cellular (800Mhz) A-Verizon Wireless B-Cingular For PCS (1900Mhz) A-AT&T Wireless/Sprint PCS B-T-Mobile C-Metro PCS/AT&T Wireless D-Sprint PCS E-Verizon Wireless F-(Dear Nextwave: We are pleased to inform you that your mausoleum is ready. | In Memoriam | My site doesn't list carriers by bands, just 1900 MHz carriers. (Some people have asked for bands to be listed -- I'll probably redo the page sometime.) Only five 1900 carriers are listed because the holder of the E block PCS license (VZW) is also an 800 MHz carrier. As for the size of the licenses: Cellular A and B = 25 MHz each PCS A, B, and C = 30 MHz each PCS D, E, and F = 10 MHz each Of course, carriers can subdivide and otherwise parcel PCS licenses (which is why AT&T has 20 MHz of PCS A and SPCS has 10 MHz, etc.)... ESMR carriers (Nextel/SoLinc) are licensed on a per-channel (25 KHz Tx + 25 KHz Rx) basis, not on a "band" basis like other carriers, and have channels "interleaved" (mixed) with each other and with public safety and other types of radio users. -SC
