sprint or cingular for southeast florida OK, so should I get Sprint
PCS with a Nokia 3585i or Cingular with a Nokia 6340i if i live near Pompano Beach (south of West Palm Beach, north of Ft. Lauderdale). I spend most of the time near there but I do travel and when I do I'm usually either in New York City, Syracuse NY, Los Angeles, or Saint Louis. So which is more reliable for southeast FLorida, Sprint
PCS or Cingular??? Please....comments, suggestions, i'm open for anything Thank You!!

sprint or cingular for southeast florida I did think of Verizon
, I use Verizon
and love it, the problem is that Verizon
wont let me get (the phone "I" would get in Florida is for my parents) a phone with a Florida area code and then send the bill to an address in New York State. Sprint will let me do that, and I am not 100% positive about Cingular bu I am pretty sure thy will let me as well.

sprint or cingular for southeast florida For Cingular you must have a local address (your parents') to signup and during the application process, use your NY addy for billing.

sprint or cingular for southeast florida Just sign up for Sprint
PCS. They are easiest to deal with things like this. If you want a phone that is easy to use and picks up a great signal you should consider the Sanyo 4900 for your parents.

sprint or cingular for southeast florida Yes. Cingular doesn't care where the billing is sent, as long as they know the local address is legit. The combination of coverage, plan flexibility and customer service (although BOTH have much room to grow) makes Cingular a far wiser choice, IMO.Originally posted by: leubme

sprint or cingular for southeast florida Awsome!! Now, i'm just checking is Cingular going to mess up my bill (i've heard so many stories aboout how Cingular messes up on bills overcharging some $300+ is this ogoing to happen to me?)!? Has it happened to you!??! Also, correct me if am wrong but isit correct that you MUST accept a 2-year contrct with Cingular??? Because I know with Sprint
you can pay an extra $10/month and avoid a contract......and either way Cingular's FL coverage is RELIABLE yes or no?????

sprint or cingular for southeast florida - Will your billing have errors? Possibly, but I've never had any
- The 2 yr contract isn't required, it just affords you the best price on the handset. A one year deal raises the phone price by on average, 50 bucks.
- Coverage is very good, but like with any carrier, they'll be varying degrees of holes. Clearly, Cingular has the better of the two networks.
- Cingular offers a 15 day return policy so have you folks try it for a week from their house and their most frequented places in their locale.
Both and all carriers have both happy and dissatisfied customers so go to the corporate store, don't fool around with resellers (sorry for the generality) and ask LOTS of questions. A knowledgeable rep will have an idea of coverage where your folks live.
